General Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining information systems in support of core organizational functions, including installation, modification and/or repair of hardware and software systems. Communicates daily with County departments regarding systems upgrades, problem resolution, and user issues.
Klamath County IT employees are required to pass an extensive background check through the Oregon State Police and FBI. The level of scrutiny is equivalent to law enforcement officers.

Work Schedule
The normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.
Salary and Benefits
This is a salaried, exempt position, with a wage range of $ 5,973.68 - $ 7,560.38 per month. The pay range listed here reflects the FULL pay range for this position for the current fiscal year. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.

Essential Functions
- The following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Performs routine and emergency maintenance and repair on computers, peripherals and network equipment to provide stable computer systems to end users
- Provide project support, from determining end user needs, software migration/installation, and/or liaison between end user/vendor
- Contribute to and maintain system standards
- Develops internal network and systems procedures and documentation
- Assembles, configures and deploys computers, accessories and/or network equipment
- Performs system backups as necessary. Identifies and interprets malfunctions and initiates corrective action to restore operation
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
- Maintains end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Loads, troubleshoots, tests and updates software packages including operating systems, commercial applications, word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Assists and/or trains individuals or groups of users in the use of software applications
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of documentation of procedures, hardware and equipment inventory
- Operate computer console and related peripheral equipment to process jobs and monitor system performance; perform file maintenance
- Assist Sr. System Administrators on projects and tasks
- Remain current on technology developments through staff meetings, vendor demonstrations, technical literature, classes and seminars, etc.
- Respond to 24/7 IT systems monitoring alerts as necessary. (Frequent after hours and on call required. 15 minute on site response required when on call.)
- Adheres to confidentiality provisions/regulations including but not limited to Oregon Identity Theft Protection Act, CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems), HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), PCI DSS (Payment Card Security Standard), GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)

Education, Certification, & Experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in enterprise environments as a Windows systems administrator of both desktop and server operating systems or equivalent (4+ years is preferred)
- In-depth experience with virtualization platforms
- Proven experience with shared network storage systems supporting virtualized workloads
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field required (Bachelor’s degree is preferred)
- MCSA
- Advanced experience with Windows PowerShell preferred
- Current Oregon Driver’s license

- Advanced administration of Windows server applications such as Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Certificate Manager, IIS, SQL.
- Advanced administration of imaging, deployment, patching, upgrades, utilizing System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Advanced experience with managing production Windows services including Microsoft Office365.
- Experience with single sign on (SSO) systems for on-premises and cloud-based services.
- Experience with mobile device management and deploying/managing mobility solutions.
- Experience with TCP/IP networked environments including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, proxies, and load balancers.
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN).
- Experience with monitoring and systems management tools such as: SolarWinds Orion, Syslog, Watchguard Dimension, System Center Operations Manager.
- Experience resolving performance issues and bottlenecks.
- Enterprise backup/recovery systems experience.
- Experience with data center power and cooling systems.
- Exposure to Mac OSX desktops, laptops, and Apple iOS mobile devices.
